Two of our Pulmonologists completed additional training and board certification in the subspecialty of Sleep Medicine. We diagnose and treat both pediatric and adult patients.
Through the Jordan Valley Diagnostic Sleep Center, we offer comprehensive services for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that interfere with patients’ sleep, including:
- Behaviorally-conditioned awakenings.
- Night terrors.
- Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
- Periodic limb movement disorder.
- Restless legs syndrome.
Do You Have Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
Do you snore? If so, you’re not alone. According to American Academy of Otolaryngology, 25 percent of adults in the U.S. are habitual snorers. However, snoring may be an indication of obstructed breathing and should not be taken lightly. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention note that snoring is a major indicator of obstructive sleep apnea, a sleep disorder in which breathing pauses or decreases during sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea can strike anyone at any age, even children. If untreated, obstructive sleep apnea may lead to cardiovascular disease, stroke, memory loss and more. To help you determine if you are at risk, complete our online questionnaire and a health care professional from the Heart and Lung Institute of Utah will contact you.
