Sleep Disorders
The Heart and Lung Institute of Utah
Pulmonary Clinic & Sleep Disorders
Center has three luxurious sleep
lab rooms. Each room is equipped
with "state of the art" technology
to get an accurate diagnosis and
treatment.
To set up a
consultation with one of our
board-certified sleep medicine
specialists, please call
(801)281-2658. Prior to your
appointment, you will complete a
comprehensive questionnaire to
assist in evaluating your medical
and sleep history.
Based on the
initial consultation, our sleep
physicians may recommend further
testing. Sleep studies are one of
the most common and effective tools
used in the diagnosis of sleep
disorders. Sleep studies involve
painless monitoring and recording of
the heart, brain, and muscle
activity as well as eye and limb
movement while a patient is
sleeping. Once a diagnosis is made,
various treatment options will be
discussed. These may include habit
modification, medication, use of
medical devices or surgery.
The Heart & Lung
Institute of Utah Sleep Specialists
use a team approach to work closely
with the patient, family, referring
physicians, and other specialists
throughout the diagnosis and
treatment process. Upon completion
of your treatment, your ongoing care
will be resumed by your primary care
doctor or the referring physician.
